We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced gymnastics coach to join our team. In this role you will help to ensure that the services we provide to our gymnasts are of the highest possible standard.
About the role
Tumbles Academy of Gymnastics is seeking to recruit a dedicated Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Coach to coach various groups within the club. This post is a full-time vacancy, working 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday. Pay will depend on the applicant’s current qualification and experience. The appointed person will be responsible for coaching one of our competitive squads, competition recreational squad and preschool.
Applicants should be a Women’s level 2 or above (essential), preferably a level 3 and have previous experience coaching gymnastics in a club, school or local authority setting. A high level of enthusiasm and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
The post will be based within Tumbles Academy of Gymnastics in Wigan. The candidate must be flexible as from time to time as the contracted hours may need to be adjusted to assist in a Club event or attend competition.

Criteria
• The successful candidate must hold at least a level 2 BG WA Coaching Award.
• The successful candidate should be able to manage / coach a group of gymnasts, whilst being able to take direction from their respective Head Coaches / Directors.
• The successful candidate must be creative and passionate and able to work with young children. A current DBS check will be required.
• The successful candidate must show that they can work with a team of people sharing ideas and taking action on agreed tasks.
• The successful candidate must be prepared to assist with events that may take place at Tumbles, or at other venues, that may possibly not be in their regular working hours. This may include club displays and competitions.

Young Leader (age 11 - 13 years)
The Young Leader programme introduces individuals to the various roles and opportunities within gymnastics. The academy aims to identify each individual’s strengths and hopes to build on enthusiasm for the sport by enabling the young person to develop within the area of the sport they enjoy. They will complete courses, socialise, create and run projects and develop their leadership skills alongside many other personal skills. There will be rewards given at various stages of the programme which will encourage young leaders to continue to participate.
Junior Coach (age 14 - 15 years)
Serving as a Junior Coach is a fun and rewarding way for 14 to 15 year old high school children to get involved with coaching, grow their leadership skills and make a difference! The Junior Coach is a volunteer position. All children in the Junior coach programme will complete a British Gymnastics Helper Qualification, Club Judge Qualification and will support the Young Leaders programme.
Academy Coach age 16+
The Coaching Academy is an initiative to provide budding coaches with the tools to start their gymnastics coaching journey. Tumbles will provide training and mentoring and will pay for your Level 1 UKCC coaching course, Frist Aid Training and Safeguarding course.
You must be committed to a minimum of 2 voluntary coaching hours per week to enrol on any of the above programmes.

Judges are an integral part of gymnastics. The competitive aspect of our sport requires great judges who understand and apply the discipline specific rules in a fair, objective and consistent way. You don't need any experience in gymnastics to train as a judge.
As a judge you get to experience exciting competitions and watch dynamic performances. You are able to judge participants at a variety of levels, be part of our vibrant judging community and may even enjoy some international travel. As you progress through the judging pathway you get to experience even more exciting competitions and highly technical and impressive routines. Most gymnastics disciplines start from Club level and progress to National.
Online Beginners courses:
Intro to... Judging: (aimed at ages 11-13) This course offers an insight into the role of a judge. You will learn about the role and responsibilities, why we judge and the importance of judging.
Club Judge: (Aged 14+) In most disciplines, this is the first step to becoming a judge. This course will introduce you to the various roles and responsibilities of being a judge. You will learn how to technically judge gymnastics skills within your chosen discipline and how to make deductions as part of the judging execution panel.
Once qualified you will become part of a prestigious community of judges dedicated to serving the sport.
