Our Coaching Academy is open to anyone aged 12+ who wants to gain valuable experience, develop new skills and work towards recognised coaching qualifications. Following a programme set by British Gymnastics, participants gain hands-on experience in the gym while being supported and mentored by our experienced coaching team.

Whether you're a parent, coach, former gymnast or simply want to learn something new, judging is a great way to stay involved in the sport and develop new skills.
Our judging courses are completed online, including an online certification course and exam. Open to anyone aged 14 and over.

Do you love gymnastics and want to get more involved?
The Tumbles Young Leaders & Coaching Academy gives young people the opportunity to develop their confidence, leadership and coaching skills while staying involved in the sport they love.
From age 11, young people can begin their journey with us, gaining practical experience, developing leadership skills, taking part in projects and working alongside our experienced coaches.
As they progress, they can take on more responsibility, work towards qualifications and explore future opportunities within gymnastics.

Ages 11–13
The perfect first step for enthusiastic young people who want to learn more about gymnastics coaching and leadership.

Junior Coach
Ages 14–15
Ready to take the next step?
Junior Coaches build on their Young Leader experience and gain more hands-on coaching experience while volunteering alongside qualified coaches.
You will have the opportunity to work towards:
Your goal: Gain experience, take on greater responsibility and develop your coaching skills.
Coaching Pathway
Age 16+
Ready to turn your experience into a coaching career?
At 16, Junior Coaches can be placed on the Tumbles coaching job waiting list. While waiting for a coaching opportunity, you can continue volunteering and building your experience within the club.
As part of your progression, we can provide access to:

What to Expect
The Academy is about much more than helping in a gymnastics class. It's an opportunity to learn, gain experience, take responsibility and develop skills for the future.
Learn
Take part in courses, workshops and activities designed to develop your knowledge, confidence and leadership skills.
Develop
Work alongside coaches and mentors, reflect on your experiences and identify areas you would like to improve.
Volunteer
Commit regular time to supporting gymnastics classes, club activities and, where possible, events and competitions.
Plan for Your Future
Set personal goals and think about how you would like to develop within gymnastics and beyond.
Get Involved in Projects
Take part in or lead projects that benefit you, other gymnasts or the club.
Your Commitment
We are looking for young people who are reliable, enthusiastic, willing to learn and committed to developing themselves and supporting others.
You will need to commit to a minimum of 2 hours of coaching each week, which can be across multiple sessions.

How Much Does It Cost?
Registration with the Tumbles Coaching Academy costs £15.
This includes:
You do not need to pay the £15 registration fee when you apply. Payment will only be requested once your application has been accepted and you have confirmed that you would like to join the programme.
Participants will also need to have British Gymnastics Membership. We will provide further information about this once your application has been accepted.

Judges are an integral part of gymnastics. The competitive aspect of our sport requires great judges who understand and apply the discipline specific rules in a fair, objective and consistent way. You don't need any experience in gymnastics to train as a judge.
As a judge you get to experience exciting competitions and watch dynamic performances. You are able to judge participants at a variety of levels, be part of our vibrant judging community and may even enjoy some international travel. As you progress through the judging pathway you get to experience even more exciting competitions and highly technical and impressive routines. Most gymnastics disciplines start from Club level and progress to National.
Online Beginners courses:
Intro to... Judging: (aimed at ages 12-13) This course offers an insight into the role of a judge. You will learn about the role and responsibilities, why we judge and the importance of judging.
Club Judge: In most disciplines, this is the first step to becoming a judge. This course will introduce you to the various roles and responsibilities of being a judge. You will learn how to technically judge gymnastics skills within your chosen discipline and how to make deductions as part of the judging execution panel.
Once qualified you will become part of a prestigious community of judges dedicated to serving the sport.
